By 2026, however, the royal family itself looked very different from the one photographed at Skyfall. Charles was now King, Camilla was Queen, and the title Charles carried onto that 2012 red carpet belonged to his eldest son.

Then the Calendar Jumped Forward 14 Years
On September 22, 2026, it was Prince William arriving at another major London movie premiere — this time with Catherine beside him. The couple’s appearance at Digger also marked their first film premiere in more than 4 years, since Top Gun: Maverick in May 2022.
Catherine does not regularly appear on movie red carpets. During her years in the royal family, she has attended only a small number of film premieres, making the Digger appearance a noticeable return even before anyone began comparing photographs.
That gap also included a deeply personal period away from many public duties. Catherine underwent cancer treatment in 2024, completed chemotherapy that September, and later announced that she was in remission.
