Princess Catherine Steps Out in a Look Strikingly Similar to Queen Camilla’s — Sparking Royal Déjà Vu and a “Who Wore It Better?” Debate — Photo
Camilla wore the Queen Mother’s amethyst sautoir, a multistrand necklace of pearls, diamonds, and amethysts finished with a large heart-shaped pendant. Against the velvet gown, the purple stones became part of a head-to-toe color story rather than simply an accessory.
The night produced all the expected royal-premiere images — Camilla greeting the stars, Charles beside her, and the couple posing beneath the cameras. For more than a decade, that was where this particular fashion moment stayed.

The Jewel at the Center of It Had Been Waiting for Decades
The jewel itself went back far beyond Skyfall. Its royal history stretches to 1923, when Queen Alexandra gave it to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the future Queen Mother, as a wedding present.
Catherine has become increasingly associated with bringing pieces from the Queen Mother’s jewelry collection back into sight. Among them was the Strathmore Rose tiara, which she returned to a royal head in 2023 after it had spent decades largely hidden from public view.
