Waking Up at 3 or 4 A.M. Every Night? Your Body May Be Trying to Tell You Something

A consistent wake-up time can be particularly helpful because it gives your body a predictable daily anchor.

Even if bedtime varies somewhat, getting up at roughly the same time each day can help stabilize your sleep schedule.
9. Bright Screens May Be Keeping Your Brain Too Alert

Many people wake up during the night and immediately reach for their phone.

This can become a major problem.

You check the time.

Then a notification appears.

You see a message.

You open social media.

You read the news.

You watch a short video.

Suddenly, twenty minutes have passed.

Your brain is now exposed to bright light, information, emotion, and stimulation.

The result can be much harder sleep.

Even if you don’t use your phone after waking, excessive evening screen use can also interfere with healthy sleep habits.

Try keeping your phone away from the bed.

If you wake up, avoid checking the time repeatedly unless you genuinely need to know it.
