Abigail nodded slowly.
“I’m sure he does,” she said.
She placed a certified bank statement on the table.
“This account was left off entirely,” she noted.
A second statement followed.
“As was this one.”
Joshua stiffened in his chair.
Frank pushed up his glasses. “Where did you get these documents?”
“Tax records, wire transfers, marital income,” Abigail said. “Over 1.2 million dollars in undisclosed assets.”
The silence turned sharp.
Frank rounded on his client. “Why am I only seeing these numbers now?”
“Those are private business investments,” Joshua stammered. “Never part of our marital assets.”
Abigail opened another folder. “Funded by corporate bonuses earned during the marriage. Several transfers happened right after you filed.”
Joshua’s jaw tightened as she laid out the transfers to Cheyenne’s business, invoices for services that didn’t exist, the apartment lease, the luxury spending.
When Abigail named Cheyenne outright, Frank closed his eyes.
“Tell me you didn’t divert family money to fund an affair,” he muttered to Joshua.
Joshua said nothing. There was no answer that could undo what was on the table.

The mediator called a recess. Joshua followed Gretchen into the hallway.
“Gretchen, wait — please talk to me, don’t do this,” he pleaded.
