Teen Girl Brought a Cardboard Boy to Graduation – Classmates Teased Her Until She Stepped up to the Microphone

Then, three nights before graduation, she found something in an old box of Felix’s school belongings.

I heard her moving things in his bedroom long after midnight. When I checked on her, she was sitting on the floor with a folded letter in her hands.

“Are you all right?”

She quickly slipped the letter into an envelope.

“I’m fine.”

“What did you find?”

“Something Felix kept.”

She looked at me with an expression I couldn’t read.

“Mom, do you remember when Mr. William visited Felix in the hospital?”

I remembered.

It had been during one of Felix’s longest hospital stays, when he was frightened about falling too far behind in school. Principal William had sent a letter expressing admiration for his determination and assuring him that he remained a valued member of the school community.

Felix had been delighted.

He read the letter three times and placed it inside his school folder.
