She Kept Throwing Her $800 Hair Extensions Into My Food on the Plane—So I Taught Her a Lesson She Would Never Forget

“Thank you for fixing my hair.”

“You’re welcome.”

“And thank you for telling me the truth, even when it wasn’t what I wanted to hear.”

I smiled.

“Just promise me one thing.”

“What?”

“Next time you buy eight hundred dollars’ worth of hair extensions, make sure you can afford them without sacrificing your peace of mind.”

She laughed.

“I promise.”

Then she hesitated.

“Would it be strange if I asked you to teach me how to braid hair like that?”

I looked at her.

“Not strange at all. But first, you need to learn how to keep it on your own side of the seat.”

She laughed so hard that Harold joined in.

For a moment, the three of us stood there smiling while the rest of the passengers moved past.

Then Brittany picked up her bag and headed toward the exit.

Before she disappeared into the terminal, she turned back one last time.
