My Husband’s Other Woman Came to My Door and Said, ‘I’m Pregnant with His Baby, and We Needed This House to Raise Our Family’

Rachel gave a short laugh.

“Oh, please.”

“We’re not making accusations,” Margaret said. “We’re asking questions.”

She placed several pages on the table.

“Before joining Tyler’s company, you worked at two other organizations where you became closely associated with senior executives. Both men subsequently experienced major personal or professional changes. We don’t know the full circumstances, and we’re not claiming you caused those events.”

Rachel’s expression hardened.

“Then why bring them up?”

“Because the timing caught our attention. And because your arrival at this house, your knowledge of the inheritance, and your certainty about Tyler’s promises raise questions we think deserve answers.”

Rachel turned toward Tyler.

“Are you going to let them talk about me like this?”

Tyler looked at the papers.

He did not answer.

Margaret continued.

“We also know that you attended the company’s holiday gathering last year.”

Rachel’s mouth tightened.

“Many employees attended.”

“Of course. But Tyler was overheard discussing his wife’s inheritance that evening. He was upset because he believed Debra’s father’s money gave her too much independence.”
