My Husband’s Other Woman Came to My Door and Said, ‘I’m Pregnant with His Baby, and We Needed This House to Raise Our Family’

Tyler frowned.

“What does that mean?”

“It means the ownership documents are here.”

He looked at the folder.

Then he looked at me.

“Debra, what have you been doing?”

“Protecting myself.”

His expression changed.

“From me?”

I held his gaze.

“I didn’t know what I was protecting myself from when I started. I only knew that something wasn’t right.”

Margaret slid the property records across the table.

Tyler picked them up.

I watched his eyes move over the pages.

He recognized the documents immediately.

“This is unnecessary,” he muttered.

“Is it?” Margaret asked. “You have just admitted that you promised this house to another woman. We think the ownership arrangements should be reviewed by an independent lawyer before anyone makes further assumptions.”

Tyler put the papers down.

“Debra, the house is our marital home.”

“It is the home where we raised our children,” I replied. “That doesn’t mean you can promise it to someone else.”
