My Husband’s Mistress Sent Me a Photo and Wrote, “YOUR TIME IS OVER. HE’S MINE NOW!” Three Weeks Later, She Fell to Her Knees at My Door, Begging Me to Save Her Daughter

“Did you sign anything for him?”

“No.”

“Did Lisa?”

Susan hesitated.

“She signed the investment guarantee.”

“Anything else?”

“I don’t think so.”

I looked at the clock.

It was almost four in the morning.

“We’re going to see a lawyer as soon as the office opens.”

Susan stared at me.

“You’re really going to help me?”

“I’m going to help your daughter protect herself. That is not the same thing as forgiving you.”

She nodded, tears running down her cheeks.

“I understand.”

“Good. Because I need you to understand something else. If you hide any information from me or the lawyer, I will walk away. I will not risk my family’s future because you or Robert are too ashamed to tell the truth.”

“I won’t hide anything.”

I hoped she meant it.

At eight-thirty that morning, I called David Bennett, an attorney who had helped our family settle my father’s estate several years earlier.
