For 52 years, James and Margaret had walked through life hand in hand.

PART 3 — BUILDING A LIFE TOGETHER

James and Margaret eventually married.

They didn’t have a perfect life. They had bills, disagreements, difficult years, and moments when they wondered whether they were strong enough to handle everything life put in front of them.

But they learned something important.

Love wasn’t just about the beautiful days.

It was about staying when the beautiful days disappeared.

When James struggled at work, Margaret encouraged him.

When Margaret became exhausted from carrying her own responsibilities, James was there for her.

They celebrated birthdays together. They traveled when they could. They cooked meals together, argued over little things, laughed about them later, and slowly built a home filled with memories.

Years passed.

Then decades.

Their hair began turning gray. Their faces began showing the lines of all the years they had lived together.

And somewhere along the way, the people who once said they wouldn’t last had disappeared from their lives.

But James and Margaret were still there.

Still together.

And then one ordinary afternoon, something happened that reminded them just how far they had come.
