“So he has been drugging me.”
“The sample supports your concern that the drink was tampered with. We cannot determine from this sample alone who added the substance or why. Your medical results may provide additional information.”
He paused.
“There is something else. We have also found a medication interaction that could be contributing to your symptoms. We need to establish whether you took the prescribed medication as directed and whether anything else was involved.”
I stared at him.
“Could someone deliberately cause this?”
“Yes. Certain substances can cause serious harm when used improperly. But I need you to focus on your immediate safety.”
He gave me the contact information for the appropriate authorities and helped arrange an urgent medical assessment.
I walked out of that room feeling as if the world had split in two.
Half of me wanted to run.
