The genetic test from the baby with the crescent-shaped mark was completed first.
The results confirmed that the child was biologically related to Mamdouh and me.
I cried with relief.
“That’s our baby,” I whispered.
Mamdouh kissed my forehead.
“One more of our children is safe.”
But we still did not know whether any other newborn had been misidentified or transferred.
