Sometimes the only thing you can do is stay.
Stay when your child screams.
Stay when they push you away.
Stay when the house is silent.
Stay when you don’t know what to say.
Stay when you are hurting too.
Because healing doesn’t always arrive like a miracle.
Sometimes it arrives quietly.
A woman walking through your front door with an old backpack.
A little girl whispering “Mommy” for the first time in months.
A father finally sitting down at the dinner table.
A daughter asking if you can be happy again.
And sometimes, after everything you thought was lost, life gives you something you never expected.
Not a replacement.
Not a second chance to erase the past.
But a reason to keep living.
For me, that reason had six little faces.
And one extraordinary woman who walked into my house simply intending to clean it.
She never cleaned away our grief.
