I stopped wearing pánts to bed at night the day my husband’s father visited my house,

And she had never apologized.

But the biggest revelation was still to come.

Idris removed a final envelope from the briefcase.

“This concerns the property that your father intends to use to help Malik and his family.”

Suleiman took the envelope and placed it in front of his youngest son.

“Open it.”

Malik carefully unfolded the documents.

They outlined a proposal to establish a small transport and delivery business using one of Suleiman’s remaining commercial assets as security for financing. The plan included a modest office, a used delivery vehicle, and a limited operating budget.

Malik read the pages twice.

“Father, you want me to start a business?”

“I want you to have an opportunity. Not a guarantee.”

Suleiman leaned forward.

“You lost your job through no fault of your own. You have worked hard, and you have responsibilities. I can help you begin again, but I will not simply hand you money without a plan.”
