The day before I had to tell my children that their father was never coming home, I saw him standing in my doorway.

Two people are gone.

Two families are broken.

Five children are left behind.

And while the rest of the world eventually scrolls to the next story, those five children still have to wake up tomorrow.

They still have to grow up.

They still have to learn how to live with what happened.

So before you type another angry comment, remember this:

Behind every name in this tragedy is a family.

And behind this tragedy are five children who had no choice in any of it.
