While there were no formal accusations of illegal behavior, the school board launched an internal investigation after a video clip circulated among students showed the teacher joking suggestively during a lecture. Parents quickly expressed concern, stating that the behavior created an uncomfortable and unproductive atmosphere in the classroom.
“It’s not just what was said, but the tone and context,” one parent commented anonymously. “We trust schools to be safe, focused places where students can learn. That trust was shaken.”
The teacher, who had been at the school for less than two years, was placed on leave pending the investigation. In a statement released through her attorney, she denied any malicious intent and described her teaching style as “free-thinking” and “open-minded.”
Still, the district ultimately decided to end her contract, citing a “pattern of professional boundary violations” that undermined the educational environment.
