“What does the message mean about funding?”

Lane looked at him.

“Mercer’s accounts are still being traced.”

Daniel spoke from the laptop.

“Could the Holloway Foundation have had a silent partner?”

Thomas nodded.

“Possible.”

Michael stared at the pages.

Then he stopped.

“There.”

A series of initials appeared beside several old transfers.

E.H.

Emily frowned.

“Who is E.H.?”

Thomas went pale.

I noticed immediately.

“You know.”

“No.”

“Thomas.”

He closed the ledger.

“It’s impossible.”

“What is?”

He looked at Michael.

“Evelyn Holloway.”

Michael stopped breathing.

Ryan looked between them.

“Who?”

Michael whispered, “Our sister.”

The sister he had never told me about.

Again.

I almost laughed.

“Wonderful.”

Michael ignored the sarcasm.

“Evelyn d/i/ed when she was twenty-seven.”

Thomas shook his head.

“No.”

Michael stared.

“What?”

“I thought she did too.”

“Thomas.”

“She disappeared after you did.”

Michael stood.

“You told me she was d/e/@/d.”
