My Husband’s Other Woman Came to My Door and Said, ‘I’m Pregnant with His Baby, and We Needed This House to Raise Our Family’

“Did Tyler tell you I agreed to this?” I asked.

She hesitated.

“He said you’d understand once you realized how things were going to be.”

“How things were going to be?”

“Debra, please don’t make this more difficult than it needs to be. I’m pregnant. I have to think about my child.”

“So do I.”

She blinked.

“What?”

“I have two children. They grew up here. This is their home, too, whether they’re living here today or not.”

Rachel’s expression hardened.

“They’re adults. They have their own lives now.”

“And you believe that gives you the right to move into mine?”

She folded her arms.

“I’m trying to be reasonable.”

I looked at her for a long moment.

Then I asked the question that mattered most.

“How long have you been seeing my husband?”

Rachel’s face relaxed, as if she had expected that question.

“Almost a year.”

A year.

Twelve months of lies.
