My Husband’s Mistress Sent Me a Photo and Wrote, “YOUR TIME IS OVER. HE’S MINE NOW!” Three Weeks Later, She Fell to Her Knees at My Door, Begging Me to Save Her Daughter

She covered her face.

“I couldn’t pretend anymore.”

I sat back in my chair.

“That explains why you came tonight. It doesn’t explain why you sent me those messages.”

“No. Nothing explains that.”

For the first time, Susan looked directly at me without trying to defend herself.

“Robert told me you had stopped loving him. He said you had separate lives, separate interests, and no affection left between you. I wanted to believe him because I was lonely, and I thought I had finally found someone who wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.”

Her voice trembled.

“But when I knew about you, I could have stopped. Instead, I became cruel. I wanted to win. I wanted to prove that he had chosen me.”

She looked down at her hands.

“I was so busy trying to feel chosen that I stopped caring about the woman he was betraying.”
