My Husband Moved His Mistress Into My House—But Neither of Them Knew What I Had Discovered

I looked at the document.

It was a copy of an agreement between Vesna’s company and a private security firm.

At the bottom was Richard’s signature.

Beside it was another signature.

Adrian Vale.

“Did you meet him alone?”

“Yes.”

“Did he threaten you?”

“He said people who asked too many questions sometimes lost more than money.”

I felt cold.

“Vesna, did he mention Sophie?”

She nodded.

“He asked whether I had named the baby’s father on the birth certificate.”

My stomach tightened.

“What did you tell him?”

“That Richard was the father.”

She paused.

“Then he asked whether I had ever had a DNA test.”

I looked at her.

“Why would he ask that?”

“Because he said Richard had told him something different.”

She swallowed.

“He said Richard wasn’t sure Sophie was his child.”

I stared at her.

“Did Richard ever tell you that?”

“No. He said he wanted a family with me. He was there when she was born. He held her and cried.”
