My Husband Left Me for a Younger Woman — Two Years Later, She Called Me Crying in the Middle of the Night

“I never signed this.”

And suddenly, the divorce itself looked different.

Chapter 3 — The Life He Had Planned

The next morning, I called an attorney.

I brought every document I had.

She spent nearly two hours going through them.

When she finally looked up, her expression had changed.

“How much did your husband tell you about the family finances?”

“Almost nothing.”

“Did you sign any of these?”

“No.”

“Are you certain?”

“Absolutely.”

She nodded.

“Then we need to investigate.”

She explained that some of the documents appeared to involve debts and financial transfers that had taken place while we were still married.

But there was something more important.

“Look at these dates.”

She placed several papers next to each other.

The first loan.

The business account.

The property transfer.

Then the divorce filing.

They formed a timeline.

Daniel had been moving money and rearranging assets long before he told me our marriage was over.

I felt sick.

For years, I had believed Chloe was the reason my husband left.

Now I wondered if she had simply been part of a larger plan.

I called Chloe.

“We need to talk.”

We met again.

I showed her the timeline.

She stared at it.
