I stared at the message.
Graham noticed.
“What’s wrong?”
Instead of answering, I walked to the kitchen drawer and pulled out a manila envelope.
Inside was a copy of a deed I’d received from a title company that morning.
It claimed I’d transferred my house to Paige.
At the bottom was my signature.
Forged.
And beside it was Graham’s name, listed as a witness.
He studied it.
“Celia, this isn’t real.”
“I know.”
“Where did you get it?”
“Someone’s trying to sell my home.”
Then I told him I was pregnant.
And when he asked who the father was, I realized I could no longer protect anyone by keeping quiet.
Especially not myself.
PART 2 — The baby’s father held the key to their ugly betrayal
“Frank,” I said.
Graham blinked.
“Your ex-husband?”
I nodded.
He sat back, looking like somebody had just knocked the air out of him.
