I Married a 70 Year Old Hospice Patient to Fulfill Her Last Wish After the Funeral Her Lawyer Revealed Why She Chose Me

I almost laughed.

“Of course she did. She couldn’t leave me a normal inheritance. She had to turn it into a mystery.”

For the first time since we had sat down, Mr. Reed smiled.

“She told me you would say something like that.”

I stared at him.

“She said that?”

“She said you had a talent for making jokes when you were frightened.”

I looked down at the letter.

That sounded exactly like her.

For the first time since her death, I smiled.

Then I folded the papers carefully, placed the necklace inside my pocket, and went to find my sister.

Rebecca was waiting in the car.

One look at my face made her stop speaking.

“What happened?”

I sat beside her and handed her the photograph.

She stared at it.

Then she looked at me.

“Daniel… is that Dad?”

I nodded.

She took the letter from my hands and began reading.
