I let a homeless elderly man sleep on my porch during a terrible summer storm. By morning, he was gone—but what he left beneath my doormat brought me to tears.

Enough courage to make another.

Enough kindness to open a door.

And enough hope to keep walking through it.

Sometimes, that’s all a person needs.

Not everything.

Just enough.

Enough to survive.

Enough to love.

Enough to begin again.
