At 80, my belly had grown so large that the doctors were left in shock. After an ultrasound, one of the doctors suspected that I might be pregnant! But

For the first time in many years, I felt at peace with both the man I had loved and the woman I had been.

I had spent most of my life trying to be strong enough to carry everyone else.

Now I understood that strength was not measured by how much pain a person could hide.

Sometimes, strength meant telling the truth before it was too late.

Sometimes, it meant letting the people you loved stand beside you.

And sometimes, at seventy-nine years old, it meant opening the door to your grandchildren, letting them rush into your arms, and being grateful that you were still there to hold them.

That was my miracle.

Not another child.

Not a perfect marriage.

Not a life without secrets or regrets.

Just another morning, another cup of tea, another chance to tell the truth, and a family that loved me enough to hear it.
