A Man on a Train Took off His Shirt and Kept Pressing His Sweaty Torso Against a Woman – Until She Put Her Plan Into Action, Making Him Scream, ‘Please, Don’t! Don’t Do This to Me!’

I looked at her.

“What’s the difference?”

“The difference is that you can hope someone learns from a mistake without taking responsibility for protecting them from the consequences.”

Her words settled over me.

Lucas had been uncomfortable because his behavior had finally been challenged. I hadn’t created that situation by asking him to stop. I hadn’t forced him to continue after Curtis warned him.

Those had been his choices.

And I didn’t need to punish myself for refusing to cover them up.

My mother picked up the cake knife.

“Would you like another slice?”

I glanced at my plate.

Normally, I would have said no. I’d already eaten enough, and there were other people who might want some.

I would have found a reason to put everyone else’s wants ahead of mine.

But there was enough cake.

And I wanted another slice.

“Actually, yes, please.”

My mother smiled as she served me.
