I nearly choked on my drink.
Kai blinked.
Then he laughed.
“She’s funny, little brother. Where’d you find her?”
Molly slipped her hand into mine.
“At a barbecue. He was the only man there who didn’t try to sell me something.”
Kai put a hand over his heart.
“That’s unfair. I offered you an investment opportunity.”
“You offered me a ten-minute explanation of cryptocurrency.”
“That’s practically foreplay in my industry.”
Molly raised an eyebrow.
“Then your industry needs help.”
I laughed so hard that I had to sit down.
For once, someone had outmaneuvered Kai without needing me to apologize for it.
On our drive home, Molly rested her hand on my thigh.
“Your brother talks a lot.”
“That’s his way of saying hello.”
“Does he ever ask people questions?”
“Sometimes.”
“Such as?”
“Would you like to hear about my latest achievement?”
She laughed.
Then her expression softened.
“Does it bother you? The way your family treats him?”
