“Money comes to your home like rice.”

“Money comes to your home like rice.”

That was the strange sentence my grandmother repeated every time she prepared her little bowl in the kitchen.

At first, I laughed. I thought it was just one of those old sayings people repeat because they heard it from their parents.

But one evening, I finally asked her what she meant.

She smiled and said, “Rice represents abundance. When the house is cared for, food is respected, and you stop treating every little thing as worthless, your mindset begins to change.”

She showed me a simple tradition she had followed for years.

She placed a small bowl of uncooked rice in a clean area of the kitchen and kept the space around it neat. She told me it wasn’t magic and that rice could not literally make money appear.

“It is a reminder,” she said. “Every time you see it, remember that abundance begins with how you manage what you already have.”

She also gave me three rules.

First, don’t waste what you already have.

Second, keep a small amount of money aside instead of spending everything you receive.

Third, never let your home become a place where you constantly complain about being broke. Talk about solutions, make plans, and look for opportunities.
