A Dream That Waited 60 Years
For decades, Bunny Levine spent her days surrounded by books, working as a school librarian while quietly holding onto a dream she had carried since childhood: becoming an actress.
Born in New Jersey in 1928, Levine built an impressive academic life first. She earned master’s degrees from both New York University and Columbia University and worked as a librarian for approximately 25 years.
When she retired in 1985, however, she decided her dream wasn’t over.
It was finally time to pursue it.
Her Acting Journey Began Later in Life
Approaching 60, Levine started attending auditions and entering an industry where many people believe opportunities become harder with age.
That didn’t stop her.
Over the years, she built an impressive list of television and film appearances, including roles in Cadillac Man, Law & Order, Gilmore Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond, Shameless, Ugly Betty, Criminal Minds, and the Oscar-winning film La La Land.
Her career became proof that success does not always follow the timeline people expect.
Helping Others Chase Their Dreams
Levine’s contribution to the acting world went beyond her own performances.
In 1991, she and her husband founded Actors Connection in New York City, creating opportunities for aspiring performers to receive guidance, training, and networking support as they worked toward careers in entertainment.
